Duke Blue Devils basketball program goes back to the year 1906, though the program did not really hit its stride until head
coach Mike Krzyzewski took over. Since then Duke has been one of the most dominant college teams in the history of collegiate
athletics. Fans of the team have been treated to many memorable seasons over the years, and the Blue Devils are regulars in
the NCAA Tournament. The program has been to the Big Dance more than 30 times, showing a consistency that is uncommon throughout
the nation. Duke has been to an astounding 15 Final Fours, and played in the National Championship Game 10 times, winning
the National Title four times. The team's most recent National Championship came in 2010, when Duke beat Butler in a thrilling

some incredible players hit the court in the name of the University over the years. The Blue Devils have seen some amazing
talents suit up in blue and white throughout the history of the program. One of the best to every play for the Dukies was
certainly Christian Laettner, who dominated the college basketball world for several years. Laettner would go on to play in
the National Basketball League. Another top player for the Blue Devils was Elton Brand, who would eventually be selected with
the first overall pick in the NBA Draft. Another Duke players to be taken number one overall in the NBA Draft was Kyrie Irving.
There have been so many amazing players in Duke's illustrious history, and there are definitely more to come. Currently the
team has one in Jabari Parker.

rivalries in sports at any level with the University of North Carolina Tar Heels. Whenever the two schools meet one another,
the eyes of the sports world are focused on the gym and basketball fans have been treated to some of the sport's most historic
games of all time whenever Duke and North Carolina square off against one another. During the early 2000s Duke developed a
fierce rivalry with the Maryland Terrapins. In 2001 the teams played each other four times with the last time being in a thrilling
Final Four match up that saw the Blue Devils come from behind en route to a National Championship. As the teams continued
