The NCAA Football Experience

When your favorite team storms the gridiron for an electrifying matchup against a rival, you'll understand the difference between seeing them on your fancy TV and seeing them from the stands. Once you've seen the game the way it was meant to be seen, the TV experience suddenly feels like taking a look at the Grand Canyon on a postage stamp. Be there for all of the hard-hitting college football action, from highlight reel runs and eye-popping catches to clutch throws that will have you jumping out of your seat in no time. With a game loaded with players that know how to put on a show, you'll see first-hand why the college football has become the cream of the crop in American sports.

The Teams

This is a game that routinely draws playmakers and great crowds, which is a big factor in making it one of the premier bowl games each and every year – which is saying something considering the reputation of the entire bowl system in college football. One thing that is never lacking when it comes to the Military Bowl is talent, which is the first thing that you're going to see if you make it out to see these talented players do their thing on the gridiron. Participants in the Military Bowl include teams like Marshall, Maryland and others, and there will be no shortage of big-time playmakers no matter who takes to the field.

Military Bowl Trivia

Did you know the Military Bowl was once almost called the Congressional Bowl?

Long before the Military Bowl was the Military Bowl, it was in discussions to be called the Congressional Bowl, though that eventually got nixed as the founders headed a different direction.

But the truth of the matter is it doesn't really matter what the name is, as the intensity of the game is sure to give you plenty to cheer about no matter what they end up calling it. In the honor of our Armed Forces, the Military Bowl now has as good of a name as any, but it's in the stands where you can see why this one has such an incredible fan following.

Military Bowl History

The Military Bowl is held at one of Washington, D.C.'s most storied sports venues, RFK Stadium. RFK Stadium first opened in 1961, and features a capacity of more than 56,000. In addition to hosting the Military Bowl, RFK Stadium is also the home of D.C. United of Major League Soccer and the Washington Redskins of the NFL, making it a great place to see a bevy of big games. The Military Bowl has also gone by other names, including the EagleBank Bowl, though it's current setup has brought the whole thing to a different level popularity. There is nothing quite like the experience of being there when the game is on the line and the Military Bowl is heating up, though that's not something that you're going to figure out sitting at home wondering what the atmosphere is like.

Military Bowl Fans

Once you're actually there soaking up the vibes of an intense game, you'll understand loud and clear what it's like to be a college football fan, which is why it's always a great idea to put down the remote and see it all for yourself. Football gets taken to a completely different level when you get to see the games from the stands, where you'll soak up the buzz of the crowd for an event that you'll be talking about long after the final whistle. At Tropicana Field in Washington, you'll get a glimpse of the action in a way that you simply can't find sitting at home no matter how hard you try.
