Born out of the musically fertile lands of Seattle, Earth came together in 1989 under the direction of guitarist Dylan Carson. Carson envisioned a band intently focused on forging a new, progressive musical path, and some argue that focus was so severe he forgot to write lyrics. After a brief hiatus in the early 2000s, Earth reunited to build upon its earlier work and bring its sound up to date. Taking their groundbreaking work from the first albums, they held onto their drone-based, slow-paced and lengthy music but also introduced a drummer and incorporated elements of jazz, country music and English folk songs.
