East Carolina Pirates Basketball Road Schedule in 2014-15
The East Carolina Pirates are ready to hit the court
this season and travel all around the country in doing so. The Pirates are coming off a 2013-14 season in which finished with
a.500 record, but it was their 5-11 mark in conference play that hurt their chances of finishing at or near the conference
standings. The Pirates have been a part of Conference USA for years now, but this season they're moving over to the new American
Athletic Conference. In their new conference the Pirates will be looking to show their new foes that they mean business, and
what better way to do that than to perform at the highest level during their first season as a member of the AAC. The Pirates
will have some tough matchups to deal with over the course of the 2014-15 season, but they look up to the challenge.
Pirates will have to travel to play the reigning National Champion Connecticut Huskies this season in what will probably their
toughest contest of the year. The Huskies entered the NCAA Tournament as a seven seed last postseason but were able to run
the table thanks to the leadership of Kevin Ollie. The Huskies have to be one of the favorites to finish atop the AAC standings
this season, and the Pirates would love to get a win in Storrs this season. If the Pirates can defeat the Huskies it will
be a huge confidence boost for this program.
Another tough test facing the Pirates this season will be when they head
out to play the Louisville Cardinals. Under head coach Rick Pitino the Cards are always one of the top teams in the nation.
They won the National Championship just two seasons ago and had another solid run in the tourney last season, so this team
is not going to be easy to take down. The Pirates would love to get a huge victory against a powerhouse program like this
one, and Pirates fans will surely be traveling to Louisville to see the game in person.
East Carolina Pirates
The East Carolina Pirates basketball team originated back in 1931, and this team has been tearing
it up on the court ever since. The Pirates have put together many a fine season since then, giving their fans some great hardwood
memories over the years. This fan base has responded by attending each home game in big numbers. Historically, the Pirates
had one of their best seasons in 1993, when they went all the way to the NCAA Tournament after taking home the Conference
USA Tournament in style. They also made it to the top of the Conference USA standings in 1972, but that remains the only other
season that the team made it to the Big Dance. The Pirates are always recruiting some of the top players in the nation with
the hop of returning to the NCAA Tournament. Each season this team adds to their history, and this year they'll be looking
to put up a huge season.
The East Carolina Pirates have some fantastic matchups this season,
and you'd be wise to get out to the arena for at least one of them. Perhaps you've been to a home game, but away games are
a totally different ball game. When the Pirates hit the road this season they'll be faced with some tough crowds in opposing
arenas, and it always helps to have some of their fans in enemy territory. That's where you can affect the game yourself,
by cheering on the Pirates from your spot in the stands in an opposing team's building. There is a thrill to seeing your favorite
tem silence an entire arena, and that's what you'll get when the Pirates pull off a huge victory away from home this season.
