Born in Tehran in 1949, Ebi demonstrated a penchant for music at a very early age, and received
musical training after being discovered by the Ministry of Art and Culture.
Later on, Ebi turned down an offer for training
as an opera soloist in Italy. Instead, he pursued music of a different genre - pop music - in his formative teen years and
became a member of the Sun Boys. Together the Sun Boys performed publicly numerous times and were well received. After a few
years, Ebi decided to go solo, debuting with Attash for a movie with the same title. He established his own style, and from
the start, he proved that he had talent.
But it was his song Shab (Night) that cemented his status as a star. Penned
by Ardalan Sarfaraz, one of Iran's most recognized songwriters, Shab (Night) was first sung in public on Mikhake Noghreyi,
Fereydoun Farrokhzad's show. His appearance on the show ignited his popularity, and Ebi himself even said that he attributes
his success to Fereydoun Farrokhzad.
Later on, he and a few other former members of the Sun Boys joined up with the
Black Cats. At the time, the Black Cats were already taking the stage of one of the most famous nightclubs in Tehran, the
Kochini club. Despite the fact that the Black Cats were doing well, Ebi departed from the group to return to his life as a
Ebi cut four albums after he left the Black Cats. They included, Nazi Naz Kon, Tapesh, Atal matal (with
Leila Forouhar), Gole Yakh and Shab Zade. All of them landed at the No. 1 spot and validated him as a true "superstar." Many
of his songs served as the musical backdrop for several big screen productions. He additionally claimed several accolades
in international singing competitions.
In the midst of a tour Ebi had planned in the U.S., the Iranian Revolution of
1979 had begun, influencing Ebi's decision not to go back to Iran. Despite having very little support, Ebi still managed to
carry on his career in L.A. and issued several successful albums.
Many of Ebi's songs focused on Iran and featured political
messages. An example of these kinds of songs, included Khalije Fars (Persian Gulf).
Ebi has sold out international venues,
including the Shrine Auditorium, Greek Theatre, Universal Amphitheatre, Sydney Opera House, the Great Western Forum and Air
Additionally, Ebi has claimed awards, including being named Best Singer in Turkey Festival with Shekar
(1975); Best Singer and Voice in Australia Festival with Persian Gulf (1993); and he garnered the Mastery of Voice Award four

For over three decades, Ebi has made almost two dozen albums. And his music that
has resonated with fans around the world. He continues to cut successful albums. Hasrateh Parvaz is a recent addition to his
already prominent repertoire.

Gharibeh, Khalij, Setareie Donbale Dar, Moallem Bad, Pir, Atre To and more.
Ebi has collaborated
with famous poets like Iraj Janatie Ataie, Masoud Hooshmand, Ardalan Sarfaraz, Leila Kasraa, Amir Farrokh Tajalli, Bijan Samandar,
Paksima Zakipour and Masoud Fardmanesh. He has also worked with well-known composers such as: Touraj Shabankhani, Esfandiar
Monfaredzadeh, Varouj Hakhbandian, Andranik, Siavash Ghomayshi and Abdi Yamini.
