El Ten Eleven tickets - El Ten Eleven tour dates

El Ten Eleven Schedule

Emerging on the scene in the early 2000s, El Ten Eleven is actually the brainchild of two friends from California, Kristian Dunn and Tim Fogarty. This incredible duo has been tearing up the music scene ever since!

Reviews have heavily emphasized the duo's use of as few musicians as possible to create instrumental works. They were awarded the title "Band of the Day " from Spin in 2005, who described their work as "experimental instrumental music that's both highly skilled and deeply felt."

They continue to play live shows in their native Los Angeles home and across the country. El Ten Eleven will be showcased at the Crescent Ballroom in Phoenix, Arizona; and at the Fox Theatre in Boulder, Colorado; coming in February 2014.

El Ten Eleven Background

Bassist and composer Kristian Dunn along with drummer Tim Fogarty have created some outstanding instrumental music. Relying on just the two of them has been more of a blessing than a challenge. Dunn has been noted as saying that with El Ten Eleven "just being the two of them is a lot easier to schedule practice time, as well as not having to deal with the egos of say, a lead singer."

Over their decade-long tenure, they will admit that they have improved due to their weighted tour schedule.

"We use a lot of ideas and techniques that we couldn't do at first. Our abilities have changed and the music is sharper," said Dunn.

Their debut album was released in 2004 on Fake Record Label and through Bar/None Records on September 20, 2005, titled El Ten Eleven. They released their sophomore album on CD format on July 9, 2007. It was then made available for download that August. That same year, the music video for the song, Hot Cakes, was released.

Xtal Records issued the band's second full-length album, Every Direction Is North in Japan, in late 2007. Their third album, These Promises Are Being Videotaped, was released on July 15, 2008. With their fourth studio album, It's Like a Secret, arriving on November 9, 2010. And their fifth album, Transitions, came in the fall of 2012.

Dunn stated that people are always trying to put a label on their music. She said, "If by indie, people mean independent, then that's us. But when I think of indie rock, I think about Modest Mouse. That's definitely not what we do. We're king of hard to define. A journalist called us electro-rock, and I like that. We have electro elements, except we do it with live instruments and no laptops. We like to see people dancing at our shows as well. But we also have mellower, sensitive material."
