About The Band

Forming in 1996 as "The Wildbunch" before changing their name to Electric Six, the band played around Detroit and amassed a fan base throughout the remainder of the decade. The group broke up temporarily but came back together in 2001 to work on their debut album "Fire" which would be released in 2003. The album was a huge success and touted a wide range of hit singles that brought in the fans from all over. They followed this up with their sophomore release of "Senor Smoke", which continued their rise to fame as it featured hit singles such as a cover of Queen's "Radio Ga Ga". Ever since "Senor Smoke" the band has managed to release an album each and every year with "Switzerland", "I Shall Exterminate Everything Around Me That Restricts Me From Being The Master", "Flashy", "Kill", "Zodiac", "Heartbeats and Brainwaves", "Absolute Pleasure", and "Mustang". They are the kind of group that loves what they do as much as their fans love listening to them, something that has worked out for them to this day.

Breakthrough Album

When Electric Six released their first album "Fire" in 2003, they definitely started off with their best foot forward as this would be the album that gave them the attention that they deserved. With hit singles like "Danger! High Voltage", "Gay Bar", and more, the album saw success on the charts in the UK and also put the band on several "Best of" lists for the year. Part of the success stems from "Danger! High Voltage" and the rumor that a pre-fame Jack White volunteered his vocals for the song. This is a rumor that is still a mystery, but the album was a success regardless.

Electric Six Trivia

While many artists are doing their best to come up with lyrics that are heart-wrenching, powerful, and maybe even tell a story that the audience can relate to, Electric Six know full well what they want to do with their songs, and that's have fun. Through their nine studio albums that they've released over the years, lead singer Dick Valentine has been quoted as saying that it's likely that more than 90% of their songs are about absolutely nothing. While the songs concern a wide range of subjects such as masculinity, sexuality, dancing, fire, and others, they all manage to craft music around these irrelevant topics to make them entertaining.

Fan Experience

Whether they're jamming out to one of their biggest songs or playing one of the songs that you may not have heard, you'll be grinning from ear to ear from beginning to end, as only Electric Six can put on a rock show quite like this. They may not have the mainstream attention that other bands do, but they have the kind of discography at their back that will keep you coming back for more. And if you've never had the chance to see Electric Six do what they do best on the stage, then you had better do your best to make it out to this next show. Tickets are now on sale, so you'll want to snatch yours up before the masses of fans do it before you once the word gets out. StubHub is your one stop shop for any and all of your ticket related needs, and don't forget to check back often to see what new and exciting events will be happening in an area near you in the coming weeks and months!
