About the Band
The Eli Young
Band first got together in Denton, Texas when Mike Eli and James Young were students at North Texas University in the early
2000's. In 2002 they released their self-titled debut album and quickly began earning an ever expanding fan base after touring
as the opener for Miranda Lambert and getting exposure on CMT and GAC. The band continued touring, opening for more bug name
acts and releasing two more albums, the studio output Level and the 2006 live album Eli Young Band Live at the Jolly Fox.
Before long they landed a management deal and headed back to Young's ranch to write new songs which became their third studio
album Jet Black & Jealous which spawned their first hit singles, When It Rains and Always the Love Songs. Four years later
they release their fourth album, Life at Best which earned them several Academy of Country Awards nominations and the prize
for Song of the Year. Having been acknowledged as one of the best acts in the genre, the Eli Young Band were determined to
remain at the top of their game as they began recording their most recent album, 10,000 Towns. The single Drunk Last Night
hit the number one spot on the Country Airplay chart and the band was nominated for even more awards as they headed out on
a major headlining tour of North America.
The Eli Young Band had long been making a name
for themselves on the country music scene by releasing quality albums and touring with big name acts, but they had not quite
achieved full on superstar success until 2011 when they released Life at Best on Republic Nashville. Their fifth single, Crazy
Girl, was the album's lead single and proved to be their first number one single as well as their first platinum single digital
single, eventually going on to be the number one song on Billboard's Year End charts. Finally the Eli Young Band had become
one of the biggest country acts in the world and from here there was no turning back.
