Energy Solutions Arena History
The Energy Solutions Arena has become one of the most beloved facilities to catch
rim-rocking basketball action in the country. The facility was originally created to house the Utah Jazz and the Salt Lake
Golden Eagles. It replaced the 12,000-seat Salt Palace with the 20,000-seat Energy Solutions Arena that was originally called
the Delta Center. The arena came to be after Utah businessman, Larry H. Miller helped to secure the funds for the facility.
The project took just 15 months and 24 days to complete, which is one of the fastest arena construction periods in the world.
The $93 million facility became the home of the Jazz, and hosted the first game in 1992. In addition to sporting events, the
arena also served as a place where chart-topping artists could come to perform for their adoring fans. Since the facility
opened, they have hosted NBC All-Star games, 2002 Winter Olympics games and performances by some of the biggest musicians
in the world.
Energy Solutions Arena Events
Energy Solutions Arena is home to the Utah Jazz, who hit the
court to take on some of the best teams in the National Basketball Association each and every season. Fans love to pack the
stands at this arena to see their beloved Jazz in action, and this Utah hoops team will be back in action in 2014-15 for what
hopefully will be a banner season for this franchise. It's not all about basketball at this arena, though, as this venue draws
some big names from the music industry as well. On August 7th Paul McCartney will take center stage and perform for the lucky
fans in attendance. This former Beatles band member has not lost a step on stage, and the arena will be jammed with people
on this night. The following month the Eagles will be in town. Check out the rest of the schedule leading up to the NBA season.
