The original play, written by Peter Schaffer, was adapted for film in 1977, with Richard Burton in the role of Dysart. It’s grown in fame since then as a tale that asks many questions of its audience, exploring subjects like sex, religion and guilt. The lead roles will be played by Richard Griffiths as Dysart and Daniel Radcliffe as the boy, Alan Strang.
