About Esperanza Spalding
Grammy Award-winning jazz musician Esperanza Spalding started exploring music when she
was very young, and by age five, she had already taught herself how to play the violin. Around this time, Spalding joined
the Chamber Music Society of Oregon and began playing violin with them for the next ten years. In her teenage years, Spalding
started playing in small venues and clubs in the Portland area, which allowed her to really hone her talents as a performer
and a musician.
Esperanza Spalding went on to release her debut album, "Junjo," in 2006, which included tracks like
