        Fela! Tickets - London GB - Based on a True Story

        Sometimes, true stories provide an even better theater experience than fictional ones, and that definitely is the case with the musical Fela! Fela! is a musical about iconic Nigerian musician Fela Kuti. Kuti is a legend in the Afrobeat scene and even went on to be a prominent political figure. His life inspired many in his home country and beyond, and his influence will only continue with this musical in London.

        The story of Fela Kuti attracted some of the top names in entertainment to create a musical about his life. Theater legend Bill T. Jones took the help as the director and choreographer of Fela!, joined by many other theater veterans. Actors Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith also acted producers, along with hip-hop legend Shawn Carter, who is better known as Jay-Z.

        The most coveted of awards in the theater world are the Tony Awards. It takes quite a musical to take home a Tony Award, let alone multiple awards. Fela! was a big winner at the 2010 Tony Awards, winning in the categories of Best Choreography, Best Costume Design for a Musical and Best Sound Design for a Musical.
