The answer is the Arizona State Sun Devils, who won the first Fiesta Bowl back in 1971 by defeating a tough Florida State team. The Sun Devils were able to prevail by a score of 45-38 in that contest. Arizona State was actually able to win the first three Fiesta Bowl games, as well as four out of the first five. They won again in 1983, and were also on the losing end of the game in 1977.
