FirstOntario Centre History
FirstOntario Centre is a large multi-purpose arena located in Hamilton, Ontario that
first opened in 1985. Although the arena was first built in a failed attempt to get the NHL to give the area a hockey team,
FirstOntario Centre has survived for decades as an entertainment center that puts on some of the best concerts, theatrical
productions, and sporting events in all of the province. The arena was originally named Copps Coliseum after Victor Copps,
the former mayor of Hamilton. Many of the biggest and most popular events held in Ontario take place at FirstOntario Centre
and StubHub is the place to go for tickets to all of them.

performing arts is your cup of tea, Toronto definitely has you covered with excellent events being put on by the National
Ballet of Canada, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Canadian Opera Company, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Canadian
Stage Company, and the Canadian Electronic Ensemble. Venues like Massey Hall offer excellent acoustics when the biggest recording
artists come to town. If sports are more your thing, there is also plenty to do in Toronto as it is home to the Toronto Argonauts
of the CFL, the Toronto Maple Leafs of the NHL, the Toronto Raptors of the NBA and the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball.
Of course, if you happen to be in Toronto between July and August you will want to attend the Scotiabank Caribbean Carnival,
or Caribana as it is also known, which is a month long celebration based on the Carnivale celebrations in Trinidad and Tobego.
FirstOntario Centre Seating Layout
FirstOntario Centre is able to hold up to 19,000 fans for its sold out concerts
and up to 17,383 for hockey games. Over the years people in the Hamilton area have come to love FirstOntario Centre not only
for the high quality concerts and sports contests it holds, but also because of its comfortable seating which allows guests

FirstOntario Centre was built
in hopes of luring an NHL team to the area but due to its location between Buffalo and Toronto, the NHL denied the city a
