Florida State Seminoles Basketball Schedule

Florida State is getting ready for some tough ACC basketball action and this season looks to be yet another thrilling one. While Florida State is often thought of as a football school, their basketball program is also annually one of the best in the conference. Always looking to knock off powerhouse programs like Duke and North Carolina, Florida State more than holds their own during the regular season and the ACC and NCAA Tournament. Several Seminoles have gone on to have long, successful NBA careers and you can see the next crop of NBA stars playing while they are still in college. The Seminoles are looking to improve upon a middle of the pack finish in the ACC last season and try to earn a trip back to the NCAA Tournament. Life in the ACC is never a walk in the park but Florida State has an impressive roster that should be able to pull off some big wins as the college basketball season really starts to heat up. Be sure to get your tickets from StubHub to see the Florida State Seminoles as they make a charge up the ACC standings.

Donald L. Tucker Center in Tallahassee, Florida will once again be home to some of the most exciting games of the college basketball season. This year the Seminoles will once again have big games against the North Carolina Tar Heels, the Duke Blue Devils, the Virginia Cavaliers, and others. Games against new conference foes like the Syracuse Orange, the Pitt Panthers, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and the Louisville Cardinals will also be tough and important match ups that the Seminoles will have to win if they are looking to return to the top of the ACC standings. Florida State has been working hard all off season in hopes of making a return trip to the NCAA Tournament after missing out the past four seasons. As all of the other schools Florida State faces in the ACC already know, the Seminoles are not a team to be messed with. The Seminoles always have plenty of talented players across their roster, making them a great team to get out and see in action.

Florida State Seminoles Basketball Conference

College basketball is virtually synonymous with the ACC and it is never easy for a team to navigate the tough conference schedule. Perennial powerhouses North Carolina and Duke always are staunch competition and with the recent addition of Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Louisville, and Notre Dame to the mix the conference is only getting tougher. Altogether the ACC has won 15 National Championships with North Carolina leading the way with five. Schools from the ACC have reached the Final Four sixty times and are always making a big impact in the Tournament. Playing such a tough regular season schedule annually leaves the teams from the ACC who are selected for the Tournament ready to take on any college in the country and allows for even some of the lower seeds to pull off big time upsets. When it comes to college basketball there is arguably no conference that is historically better or more dominant than the ACC.

The Experience

College basketball is an experience like no other. Featuring some of the best student athletes in the world along with some of the most passionate fans in all of sports, the games have an atmosphere that is unrivaled. When you set foot into Donald L. Tucker Center for a Florida State Seminoles home basketball game this will all be clear. The game continues full of back and forth action, big time shots, and clutch defensive stops. Before you know it the clock is winding down in the second half and the two sides are wrapped up in yet another tight contest. Your palms get sweaty with each trip down the floor and each time a player from your favorite team lets loose a shot you hold your breath until the ball tickles the twine. This continues until the final buzzer when the Seminoles' side erupts after another big win and their fans flow out of the arena in jubilation. As soon as you leave Donald L. Tucker Center you will be looking to start planning your next trip to the arena to see the Seminoles in action.

Florida State has been to the NCAA Tournament 14 times and have advanced to the Sweet Sixteen four times, while making the Final Four once in 1972. Only one former Seminole has had his number retired, former center Dave Cowens who wore the number 13 from 1968 through 1970.
