        Created by the out of work actor Gerard Alessandrini who had been collecting his musical parodies since a child, Forbidden Broadway first appeared at Palsson's Supper Club on New York's Upper West Side in January 1982, astounding audiences with its original comedy and humor, eventually taking home a Drama Desk, Obie and Outer Critics Circle awards.
