Freedom Hall is recognized as the home of University of Louisville s men s and women s basketball teams. The Louisville Cardinals have earned plenty of cheers with Freedom Hall s walls. The cheers have escalated with time, as a major renovation in 1984 led to the Freedom Hall expanding from a maximum capacity of 16,000 to almost 19,000 people.

Freedom Hall and Cardinal Stadium are located at the Kentucky Fair & Exposition Center. When traveling the Watterson Expressway (I-264) East or West: Exit at Exit 12B (Fairgrounds Exit). The main entrance into the Kentucky Fair & Exposition Center is straight ahead at the stop light. When traveling I-65 South: Exit at Crittenden Drive (Exit 132). Entrance 4 to the Fairgrounds is visible from the bottom of the ramp. The entrance will be on your left.

Ample parking is located nearby the Freedom Hall facility.

In addition to the expansion in 1984, the Freedom Hall gained a new scoreboard system and video wall setup in 1994. A press room, locker rooms and coaches offices were also included. The Hall is a rallying point for basketball fans of all sorts from all across the state. Plenty of major games have been played here, and more will be in the future.
