2014 Frys.com Open

The Frys.com Open is just one of those events that you need to get out to if you're a golf fan, as this Napa, California-based tournament is always popping with great players who turn up to put on a show, providing the perfect atmosphere for great slice of one of the world's oldest and most respected games. Come out and see the top golfers around bomb it down the fairway, mesmerize the gallery with approach shots and drain clutch puts that will have you buzzing long after the day is over. The Silverado Resort and Spa is known as a great place to see an amazing gold tournament, but you're not really going to figure that out sitting at home wondering what the excitement level of the gallery is like.

When you hear the roar of the crowd following a memorable moment, you'll realize that there is nothing quite like watching big-time golf like the Frys.com Open, a tournament that has been dazzling golf audiences ever since it first got rolling in 2007. Once you're there watching some of the top golfers in the game do their thing alongside a great crowd, you'll be glad that you're not sitting at home trying to squint and get a glimpse of the action on that disappointing little flatscreen. With the guarantee of plenty of amazing moments, it doesn't get any better than this if you love pro golf played at the highest possible level.

This is just one of those tournaments that tends to draw the best, which is why it's always a good idea to put down the remote and make sure you get right in the thick of the excitement. Great golfers like Mike Weir, Bryce Molder and others taken down this one more than once, and you never know when the next legendary golfer is going to blow the field out of the water with a banner day that the will have the entire golf world buzzing. In 2013 (as part of the 2014 PGA season), Jimmy Walker ended up shooting his way to the top of the leaderboard and taking the tournament, giving him one of the top moments in his career. With so many exciting golfers who know how to make it hard on the opposition, it just doesn't get any better than this.

And it also doesn't hurt that there are plenty of great fans that show up in droves to be a part of the excitement, creating a buzz and an electricity that you're simply not going to find anywhere else – and definitely not if you plan on sitting at home or catching the highlights on your tablet or smart phone. With a great course that has the beauty and creativity to match the talent level, this is a golf tournament that you definitely won't want to miss out on.

Frys.com Open History

It all got started in 2007 when Mike Weir took down the tournament, but since then there have been plenty of other amazing rounds as well, including when both Cameron Beckman and Troy Matteson won the event with negative 18 under par in 2008 and 2009, respectively. After many great years being held at the CordeValle Golf Club, the Frys.com Open moved to the Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa, California in October of 2014, bringing about an exciting new era. This is a tournament that routinely draws some of the very best golfers around, making for a mesmerizing display of golf excitement that will have you on the glued to the action.
