About Future

Born Nayvadius Wilburn in 1983, the man who would later pick up the stage name Future moved to Atlanta, Georgia when he was just seven years old. Later changing his solo name to Nayvadius Cash, Future would spend his early years learning and collaborating with a tight knit group of Atlanta hip hop artists named The Dungeon Family. Spurred on by his cousin, producer Rico Wade, Future would get into the rap game at a young age while growing up around Dungeon Family artists, including his cousin Rico Wade, Ray Murray, Sleepy Brown. The Dungeon Family, who would produce and write some of the biggest albums in hip hop including Outkast's The Love Below/Speakerboxxx and Cee Lo Green's The Lady Killer. They would be apt mentors for Future, with Rocko signing him to his first label and starting Future's foray onto the global music scene.

Future would sign his first major record deal in 2011, and soon gain huge momentum in the hip hop scene through his multiple mixtapes and soon to be two full length albums. Future would cozy up to some of the biggest names in the industry, collaborating early on with Diddy and Ludacris. Further refining his skills and his image by his second album, he would also feature legends such as Kanye West, Rihanna, Drake, and Diplo on his second album. Holding to his Dungeon Family roots, Andre 3000 also recorded with Future for his second forthcoming album Honest.

Previous Hits

One of the primary attributes Future has attributed to his success has been his rock solid work ethic. Like many hip hop musicians, Future would put out a series of mixtapes before releasing his first full length. His first mixtapes came out in 2010 and 2011, and included 1000, Dirty Sprite, and True Story. True Story would start to gain traction within the hip hop community, with his Scarface inspired "Tony Montana" gaining notoriety. He also would score guest spots with various artists during his up and coming period while writing for his first full length. His collaborations include an appearance on Gucci Mane's Free Bricks and YC's single "Racks".

Future's big breakthrough would come with his signing onto the Epic Records label, and would simultaneously release his next mixtape Streetz Calling, which would be described by XXL magazine as containing "soundly executed boasts… drinking and drugging jams…. and tales of the grind". Claiming that Streetz Calling would be his final mixtape, he released Astronaut Status shortly before his first full length. Astronaut Status would gain him the cover of the magazine The FADER. Astronaut Status would generate hype for the increasingly anticipated debut album Pluto.

Pluto would be Future's biggest hit yet, bringing back singles "Tony Montana" and "Magic" in remix form, featuring Drake and T.I., respectively. "Magic" would go on to be Future's biggest yet, breaking the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Other appearances on Pluto included R. Kelly, Snoop Dogg, and Trae Tha Truth, further pushing Future into the public eye.

Trivia

Future is in a relationship with American singer Ciara. The relationship was revealed via an interview with music publication Vibe magazine. Ciara is pregnant with Future's fourth child.

Future would repackage and re release Pluto as Pluto 3D, featuring three new songs and two remixes. Current reports confirm that the Pluto 3D packaging can be seen in three dimensions.

The Future Concert Experience

Keeping the Atlanta hip hop scene live, dynamic, and relevant, Future is one of the best Southern rap performers hitting the tour circuit today. His ever growing catalog of mixtapes and original tracks make for a performance that is both unique and familiar, giving both the uninitiated and die-hard fans a like something to listen for.
