Galen Center History
University of Southern California's Gale Center is the perfect spot to take that sports nut
in you when you want to catch an adrenaline-fueled game. The Galen Center is the home of the USC Trojans basketball team,
and as one of the most popular NCAA teams, the Center sees a lot of fans pass through its doors each year. The Galen Center
is named after Louis Galen, a banker and a passionate USC Trojans fan who wanted to see the team have their own place to play.
He and his wife donated an initial $10 million to the effort to build a new venue in 2002. The total quickly jumped to around
$50 million—a pretty penny for a lovely sports venue that sees a lot of use.
College sports are an institution
in American society and have been a big part of the country's culture for a very long time. College basketball dates all the
way back to late 1800s, and things really took off for collegiate sports in general with the formation of the National Collegiate
Athletic Association in 1910. The NCAA gradually began to take over the governance of college sports and now essentially runs
all collegiate athletics. Any college basketball game you see at the Galen Center is sanctioned by the NCAA.

months prior to the state of California being admitted to the Union. It has since grown into one of the largest and most famed
cities in the entire world.

of Angels is one huge playground and just happens to be located in a region boasting what many people consider to be the best
climate in the United States of America. One of every six inhabitants of Los Angeles work in the creative industry, making
this a fantastic place to see events of all kinds. There are always incredible music concerts, theatrical productions that
draw rave reviews, hysterical comedians that are on the rise and much, much more. Los Angeles is a major vacation destination
