Gary Allan was born December 5, 1967 in Montebello, California but was raised in La Mirada, California. He proved his talent early on as a teenager, and was offered a record deal while he was still in high school. He turned it down, but in 1996, decided that he did want to be in the music business, and released the single "Her Man."
