Sometimes, the greatest tragedies in our lives can lead to amazing revolutions in spirit. For musician Michael Deni, a
number of family deaths led to him moving across the country and forming Geographer, one of the hottest bands coming up in
the indie-pop scene. The band's swelling synth beats and positive vocals have earned them a lot of followers online. With
a new record out called Animal Shapes, don't settle for hearing him online - get concert
tickets and see Geographer live.
Michael Deni lost several family members in 2005. It was a low point for him in life, and he reacted by moving from his
native New Jersey to San Francisco, starting a music outfit there called Geographer. He added cellist Nathan Blaz and drummer
Brian Ostreicher, and together they released their debut, Innocent Ghosts. Positive reviews from SPIN led to even more fanfare
for the band.
After the release of Innocent Ghosts, the band issues a single called Kites in 2009, which further helped get the word
out about them. Their latest release is Animal Shapes, which is expected to turn on many new fans to the band's lilting, emotive
brand of synth-pop.
If you have heard Geographer online, but haven't had the chance to experience them live, then look up above and see what
concert tickets are available for their upcoming
shows. Don't miss out on seeing the band when they come by your town!
