Geographer Schedule

With an impressive repertoire, Geographer is one of the hottest groups to recently eclipse the indie-pop music scene. The band's amplified synth beats and positive vocals have garnered them a huge online following!

Geographer's members have defined their sound as being "soulful music from outer space" specializing in using electronic, acoustic and analog components to create their authentic brand of music.

Geographer Background

After dealing with some harrowing family circumstances, Michael Deni left his New Jersey hometown to relocate to San Francisco in the summer of 2005. He turned to composing music as an outlet after finding a guitar and a synthesizer on the street. Although he didn't recognize it at the time, Deni was laying the groundwork for what would become Geographer.

Once Brian Ostreicher (drummer) and Nathan Blaz (cellist) were added to the fold, Geographer was born and spent the next year playing gigs in the Bay Area, stealing the hearts of fans with their spine-tingling epics that comprise their first record, Innocent Ghosts.

After making the list as one of three "Undiscovered Bands You Need To Hear Now" by Spin Magazine and cultivating a tremendous amount of praise from their high-octane live performances, the band inked a deal with Tricycle Records. They issued a 7" single for the tune Kites in the fall of 2009.

Animal Shapes came along after Kites. The EP meshes Geographer's penchant for making evocative and beautiful melodies with textural sounds, denoting a transformation of their authentic style. With the positive outpouring from fans and acclaimed response to the arrival of Kites and Animal Shapes, Geographer has managed to make a deep impression on the music scene today.

Geographer Hit Albums

Geographer has issued two full-length albums, which include Innocent Ghosts (2008) and Myth (2012).

After Geographer issued Innocent Ghosts, the single, Kites, arrived in 2009, which further helped boost word-of-mouth efforts about their music. The EP, Animal Shapes, from which the single originated was a phenomenal success for the tech-savvy youth of America, who downloaded the band's record almost as quickly as they could post it.
