2005 was a great year to have NCAA basketball tickets to see the Colonials in the NCAA Tournament. George Washington beat UNC-Wilmington in the first round, and advanced to play a very strong Duke team. The Colonials ended up losing the game, but it left their fan base hungry for tickets to their home games in the years that followed. In 1993, the Colonials got all the way to the Sweet Sixteen under Head Coach Mike Jarvis.
George Washington doesn't need to do much to get their students to come out to home games. The University has a very spirited cheering section, and the Colonials are lucky to always have home games that are well-attended by loud, supportive students, including one of the largest student groups on campus, the Colonial Army.
