The 1980s were the best time to get NCAA basketball tickets to see the Georgetown Hoyas. Patrick Ewing led the team to the finals twice, winning the national championship in 1984. Other famous NBA centers have played in Georgetown, such as Dikembe Mutombo and Alonzo Mourning. Allen Iverson was a first overall pick in the 1996 NBA draft. In 2006, the Hoyas reached the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA Tournament.
