Yellow Jackets Basketball Conference
College basketball is virtually synonymous with the ACC and it is never easy for
a team to navigate the tough conference schedule. Perennial powerhouses North Carolina and Duke always are staunch competition
and with the recent addition of Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Louisville, and Notre Dame to the mix the conference is only getting
tougher. Altogether the ACC has won 15 National Championships with North Carolina leading the way with five. Schools from
the ACC have reached the Final Four sixty times and are always making a big impact in the Tournament. Playing such a tough
regular season schedule annually leaves the teams from the ACC who are selected for the Tournament ready to take on any college

The Yellow Jackets played in three games in 1906 before the program eventually
reemerged in 191911 when they were coached by the legendary John Heisman who also coached Georgia Tech's football and baseball
teams. Bobby Cremins retired as the most successful coach in the program's history and helped establish the Yellow Jackets
as a national power, guiding them to their first ever Final Four appearance in 1990. Georgia Tech has retired six numbers,
those of Mark Price, John Salley, Matt Harpring, Rich Yunkus, Roger Kaiser, and Tom Hammonds.
