Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Schedule in 2013-14

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are ready to sting the competition as they hit the floor this season to do battle with some of the toughest teams in all of college hoops. The Yellow Jackets have a roster brimming with talent, one that many fans think can take them right to the top in 2013-14. The Yellow Jackets call the Atlantic Coast Conference home, a conference that features some of the most prolific college basketball programs in the country. With so many quality teams in the ACC, the schedule is a difficult one for Georgia Tech on an annual basis. The Yellow Jackets know they're going to have to defeat some tough teams at home this season if they're going to vie for the top spot in the ACC standings this season. The Yellow Jackets put together a solid 16-15 record last season, but won just six of their 18 ACC contests, reflecting the overall competitive level of the conference. It's obvious to the Georgia Tech players that they're going to play better throughout their ACC schedule this season, something that is definitely easier said than done. This is not a team that will back down to any opponent, though, especially when they've got their loyal home crowd behind them.

The Yellow Jackets have a big matchup coming their way in Atlanta, GA when the Duke Blue Devils visit McCamish Pavilion. The Blue Devils have one of the best teams in the nation as well as one of the top players in the country in Jabari Parker. Parker is a talented freshman that is a good bet to be a top pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, but until then opposing college teams are going to have their hands full with this versatile offensive weapon. The Yellow Jackets are surely going to focus a lot of their defensive attention on Parker, but the problem with Duke is that they have plenty of other talented players that will be looking to step up if Parker gets bottled up. Coach K always seems to be a step ahead of the opposition, so Georgia Tech's head coach is going to have to bring his Xs and Os to this contest. It should be a great game either way and see a great turnout from the fans.

Georgia Tech will close out their home schedule this season when they take the court against the Virginia Tech Hokies on March 8th. The Hokies have a formidable team that could rain on the Yellow Jackets' parade if Tech doesn't show up prepared for this conference battle. The final home game of the season is always a big matchup, and fans pack the stands in the hope of seeing their team close out the regular season with a victory. Not only would a win against the Hokies in this game help the Jackets in the SCC standings, but it would also give the team some serious momentum heading into the conference tournament, where the winner gets an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
