Fans will recall that Ghost the Musical was a movie long before it ever came to the stage. The 1990 film originally starred Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, Tony Goldwyn, and Whoopi Goldberg. After Patrick Swayze's character is murdered in an attack on both he and his girlfriend (Demi Moore), Sam Wheat has to traverse the afterlife to find a way to warn Molly about the impending danger on her life. Unfortunately, the only one capable of seeing Sam is a medium named Oda Mae Brown (who's played by Whoopi Goldberg) and he needs her help to warn Molly. The original film was written by Bruce Joel Rubin, but it's been adapted for the stage by both Bruce Joel Rubin and Dave Stewart.
