is a country music band still relatively fresh on the music scene, forming just six years ago in 2008. The band is made up
of brothers Tom and Mike Gossin, on vocals and guitar, as well as Rachel Reinert on tambourine.
Tom would be a musician
since the age of 5, when he would learn classical piano. His interests would shift towards jazz and guitar, culminating in
him attending the University of North Carolina Wilmington and majoring in guitar. At the behest of a respected professor,
Tom dropped out of university to become a full time musician. Mike would follow Tom to Wilmington, where the two would eventually
move to Nashville Tennessee and make a living as a musical duo.
Rachel Reinert was a little bit farther down the coast
in Sarasota Florida. She was signed to a publishing deal at the age of 15, and she would soon move to Nashville Tennessee.
There she would run into the Gossin brothers and the trio, along with a fourth performer Cheyenne Kimball (who would leave
the band) began recording demos and performing across Tennessee.
The band would soon sign with Emblem Records, where
they would work with famed producer Matt Serletic (Matchbox 20) and various other household Nashville names. After the release
of their first single in 2009 the band would catapult to national success, touring with Taylor Swift throughout 2009 and 2010.
Gloriana would continue to perform and record until a recording hiatus after the unexpected departure of Cheyenne Kimball
With as much talent and energy possessed within Gloriana, it is no surprise that
their first debut single would rocket them into the limelight. After the recording and release of "Wild At Heart", the band
would receive instant critical and commercial acclaim, claiming the highest-selling country music debut single of 2009. Their
single along with their four song EP would give them enough clout to be signed as a supporting act for Taylor Swift's Fearless
tour, at the height of her popularity.
By the end of 2009 the band would release its self titled debut album that again
would top charts across the board. Gloriana would hit number two top country album and number three on the Billboard 200.
"Wild At Heart" would still enjoy success eventually peaking at 15 on Billboard. The band's second single "How Far Do You
Wanna Go?" would be released later that year. With all the hype and success of Gloriana, they would received the American
Music Award for Breakthrough Artist of the Year, 2009, as well as the Academy of Country Music's Top New Vocal Group award.
would release their next single, "Wanna Take You Home" off of their second album A Thousand Miles Left Behind in 2011. They
would again break the top 40, and would transition to television as their hits were included on such shows as The Bachelorette
and Hart of Dixie. A Thousand Miles Left Behind would again receive critical acclaim, and would be supported by two more singles,
"(Kissed You) Good Night" and "Can't Shake You".
The Gossin's have a third brother, Stephen, who
is also musically gifted. All three of the Gossin brothers are musically inclined and have been playing instruments since
before they were ten.
Tom and Stephen Gossin would write and record a short lived reality TV series.
was born in Florida, Rachel Reinert would spend most of her childhood in Santa Ana, California. She would get her break on
the west coast before returning back to the east coast to further pursue her career. The Gossin brothers would actually hear
about Rachel not in person, but through MySpace.
The band had already recorded a single and signed with a major record
label before they had decided on a name. Naming the band Gloriana was a last minute decision.
The Gloriana Concert
There are so many old and legendary acts in the country music scene, that finding genuine fresh and youthful
energy is becoming a tougher and tougher find. Gloriana is the perfect mixture of youth (they've only been around for a few
years) with talent (the artists have been performing for almost their entire lives). It's hard not to be captivated by the
groups vitality as they come out onto stage and start belting the chorus to "Wild At Heart" or "Wanna Take You Home". Longtime
fans and the uninitiated alike can appreciate the power and passion these performers put into their show. Whether they're
playing out in the heartland or the Hollywood bowl, Gloriana is an act that brings that down home feel to every single concert.
This is a performance you do not want to miss!
