Golden State Warriors Schedule in 2014-15
The Golden State Warriors are ready to hit the battlefield that is the
basketball court this season to take on all of the best teams in the National Basketball Association. The Warriors have a
very talented team that could make some serious waves in the West this season with new head coach Steve Kerr running the show.
The Western Conference is a regular murderer's row of opponents, though, so this team is going to have to play well each and
every time they hit the court, especially at home. Oracle Arena will be the home of some fantastic matchups this season, and
you can be there in the stand to soak it all in.
Golden State will surely look to play well against the Los Angeles
Clippers, who won the Pacific Division title last season. The Clippers have two of the best players in the game right now
in point guard Chris Paul and forward Blake Griffin. If the Warriors hope to win the division title, they'll gave to play
well in their head-to-head matchups with the Clippers. Plenty of other tough Western Conference teams, such as the San Antonio
Spurs, Oklahoma City Thunder and Phoenix Suns will come to Oracle Arena this season, and the Warriors would love to send them
all home with losses. Check out the full Warriors schedule this season to see when these clubs are coming to town.
Golden State Warriors Team Info
The Golden State Warriors are ready to battle it out on the court this season
as they look to ascend into the upper echelon of the Western Conference. The Warriors had a good season in 2013-14, but they
certainly have the potential to improve this season. Golden State made a big splash in the offseason by hiring Steve Kerr
to be the new head coach of the team. Kerr has no previous head coaching experience, but he was a hot candidate in the offseason
that the Warriors were able to lure to Northern California. Kerr is expected to run at least a modified version of the triangle
offense that was perfected by his former coach Phil Jackson, who tried to hire Kerr to coach the New York Knicks this offseason.
With Kerr in place, the Warriors will probably play quite a bit differently this season, and they could have much greater
success on the court. The team has one of the best guards in the league in Stephen Curry, a dead-eye shooter that is capable
of hitting shots from deep range. Curry and Klay Thompson form one of the best young backcourt duos in the entire league,
as they rain down threes with regularity, earning them the nickname "The Splash Brothers." With solid veterans surrounding
them, such as Andre Iguodala and Andrew Bogut, the Warriors are certainly capable of contending for one of the top spots in
the Western Conference standings. The Warriors made a nice acquisition as well this offseason when they signed veteran free
agent points guard Shaun Livingston. Livingston had the best season of his career last year with the Nets, and gives the Warriors
a player that can play and defend both guard positions. He should be a nice piece for the team. The Warriors are hoping he
can help them make a deep run into the playoffs this season.
NBA basketball is about as
exciting as it gets in the world of professional hoops. The National Basketball Association is filled with the some of the
best athletes in the world, and that makes for an incredible brand of basketball that needs to be seen in person to be truly
appreciated. Being there in the stands, you'll see who talented these players really are. It's amazing to see a guy grab a
rebound and take it coast-to-coast for a 360 slam dunk. Make sure you get out to see the Warriors this season, as they are
one of the most exciting teams in the league.
Golden State Warriors Trivia
Did you know that Golden State
Warriors guard Stephen Curry's father also played in the National Basketball Association?
That's right - Dell Curry
built a solid pro career on a foundation of being a dead-eye shooter, which is not exactly a surprise when considering the
younger Curry's shooting prowess. Curry made a name for himself by leading Davidson deep into the NCAA Tournament, and suddenly
he found himself on the NBA radar. Curry would get selected in the Top 10 of the NBA Draft by the Warriors, and he has proven
to be even better than most people expected. Now one of the league's most potent offensive weapons, Curry is capable of lighting
it up on any given night. Perhaps no player is more dangerous when he has a hot hand, as Curry has become known for launching
deep threes at will when he's feeling it.
