Upcoming Events

Golf is a sport that takes incredible skill and dedication to master, which is why it's an amazing experience to see the best golfers in the world take to the links for the biggest tournaments of the golf season. These golfers are masters on the course, making shots that will leave your jaw on the floor. With another season of great events on the docket, fans are ready to head to the course to see their favorite golfers take on some of the most challenging holes in the world.

One of the biggest tournaments of the year will be played from April 10th to April 13th when the best golfers in the world descend on the legendary course at Augusta for The Masters. The Masters is probably the most renowned tournament in the world, and any golfer that wins the coveted green jacket is considered an automatic golf legend the moment he puts it on. Seeing this tournament played in person is something that every fan of the sport longs for, and you can hit the course to see it all happen right before your very eyes.

In June the top golfers on the planet will head to Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, NC for the U.S. Open. Generally considered to be one of the most difficult events on the PGA Tour, the U.S. Open is always played at a prestigious and challenging golf course somewhere in the United States of America. Fans will flock to Pinehurst in 2014 to see the world's best tee it up and smack it down the fairway.

If it's top-notch golf that you crave, then a great event to attend will be the PGA Championship in August of 2014. This event will take place at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, KY and will feature some of the most incredible golfers you've ever seen play the game. This might be the least-renowned of the majors, but that doesn't mean it's not a fantastic tournament to be there for. You can see it all unfold for yourself when you're there in Louisville in person to witness the event.

Golf dates back to the 15th century when it was created in the country of Scotland. Oddly enough, the first written record of the sport is a ban placed on it in 1457. The oldest golf course in the country is St. Andrews, located on the east coast of Fife, a place considered sacred by many golf fans. The Professional Golfers Association was founded in 1916 and now features all the best golfers in the world. The organization puts on tournaments across the world States throughout a lengthy season in which pro golfers win championships and compile points that are taken into account when ranking each golfer. The biggest events of the year are the four major championships, The Open Championship (referred to often as The British Open), The U.S. Open, The Masters and the PGA Championship.

Life as a Fan

Because the PGA Tour season lasts a long time, and the tour moves from different locations around the country, it seems that no matter where you are in North America, or even Britain, you can find a PGA event near your home. The PGA offers the best golfers playing at the most beautiful courses in the world, including Pebble Beach, St. Andrews, and Augusta. Seeing golf on TV is not nearly the same as seeing it live, and that's why the most dedicated golf fans always make a point of it to get out to see the biggest tournaments of the year.

Introducing New Fans

Golf might not be an easy game to master on the course, but it certainly is an easy game to come to love as a fan. Watching the best golfers in the world do their thing on the course is a sight to behold, but it also makes the game itself look much easier than it actually is. New fans to the game can ditch the inevitable frustration that comes with learning to play and head to the biggest tournaments to see the best ball strikers in all the land show their mastery of the game on the toughest courses known to man.

Attending a big golf tournament is something that you have to experience for yourself at least once in your life to consider yourself a true fan of the game. PGA events always feature the cream of the crop of golfers as they display their incredible skill for all those in attendance to witness. The PGA Tour organizes many prestigious events during the year, including the Ryder Cup, the Players Championship, and the much-touted majors: the Masters, the U.S. Open Championship, the PGA Championship and the British Open. These are the best events to get to in person, but really any PGA event is going to be a great time for a golf fan.
