About the Artist
Granger Smith is a Texas native who moved to Nashville at the age
of 19 in hopes of following his dream of being a country star. He spent a lot of time honing his songwriting craft and perfecting
his live show. His sound is far from the pop country that dominates the pop charts today although he has had six top ten singles.
He continues to make country music with a distinct and raw sound that really resonates with country fans looking for something
outside of the overproduced pop music that is in constant rotation on many radio stations. A big part of Granger Smith's appeal
in fact lies in his grassroots approach and the fact that while he wanted to get his music out to the masses he never had
the desire nor chased the dream of being a high maintenance, overproduced country superstar. For Granger it is all about the
music and remaining true to his Texas roots, making him a breath of fresh air in the sometimes overcrowded country music scene.
One of Granger Smith's earliest singles, the subversive "Don't Listen to the Radio" proved to be
a smash hit. On the coattails of the success of his early singles Granger was allowed the privilege of traveling to Iraq and
Kuwait to perform for the troops, an honor he gladly accepted and has planned to do several more times. Additionally, Granger
Smith has been invited to perform at the White House twice which was a dream come true for this patriotic performer. A slew
of hit singles followed Don't Listen to the Radio but Granger Smith never lost sight of where he came from or who he was and
is still more than happy to entertain the troops and do whatever he can to keep his fans and family happy.
You have been waiting for months for this night to come and finally as the lights lower you begin to see
the beloved Granger Smith making his way out onto the stage. The crowd erupts in applause as Granger picks up his guitar and
approaches the mic. A hush falls over the crowd as Granger thanks them and launches into a fan favorite like Don't Listen
to the Radio, We Bleed Maroon, Colorblind, Livin' Like a Lonestar, Superstitious 17, or I Almost Am. The crowd once again
erupts and sings and dances along to hits throughout the night. Always known to have great interaction and banter with the
crowd, Granger Smith knows how to connect with his fans no matter how big or small the venue in which he is performing. The
high energy output from the band translates perfectly to the crowd and you spend the entire night dancing and singing along.
Granger Smith attended Texas A&M before deciding to head to Nashville to focus on his music career.
His 2013 album Dirt Road Driveway was released in 2013 and debuted at number one on the iTunes Country Music Chart. The video
for his song Silverado Bench Seat debuted on SportsCenter and was number one on the Texas charts for three straight weeks.
Sometimes Granger is known to perform as his alter ego Earl Dibbles Jr., a character he says he invented when he was young
that in different ways represents each member of his family. Whether it is Granger Smith or Earl Dibbles Jr. you are seeing
on stage you can be sure that you are seeing one of the best country musicians of his generation and are in for a musical
treat you will not soon forget.
