2014 Green Bay Packers Road Schedule

With Aaron Rodgers back under center and the Green Bay Packers looking to get right back to the top of the NFC North, it's sure to be another season filled with nail-biting moments that you won't want to miss out on. Sure, home games at Lambeau Field are obviously must-see events if you're a Packers fan, but don't even think about missing out on the road matchups that are sure to have fans buzzing all over town leading up to kick-off. If the Packers can bring home a few road wins this season, they could quickly start looking like a juggernaut that can once again compete for a title, giving you all kinds of reasons to keep up with them on the road.

One of the main matchups, of course, will be when the Packers will travel to Chicago, IL to face the Chicago Bears this season and continue one of the best rivalries in all of football. These are two teams that have been battling it out on the gridiron for years, making their Sept. 28 matchup in the Windy City one of their most anticipated games of the season. The Packers will also be traveling to Detroit to take on a Lions team that has all kinds of playmaking ability, providing an excellent challenge for the Packers when they head to Detroit on Sept. 21. A Nov. 23 road game in Minnesota is another matchup that fans will be interested in being a part of, as it's another old school rivalry that remains as exciting as ever.

But the Packers also have one of the most interesting road schedule outside of just their usual divisional games. It all gets started on Thursday, Sept. 4 as the Packers participate in the very first game of the NFL season, as they'll head to Seattle to take on the defending champion Seattle Seahawks. There won't be a lack of fanfare when the Packers head down to the Big Easy to battle it out with the New Orleans Saints, a matchup that has all the makings of a jaw-dropping shootout. All in all, this season is loaded with possibilities and opportunities this year as the Packers look to dominate their schedule and make their move towards the postseason.

Green Bay Packers Team Info

Year in and year out, one of the most feared teams in the league is the Green Bay Packers, with a lot of that being because of who they have under center. With Aaron Rodgers calling the signals, absolutely anything can happen, and the Packers have been a major contender for the playoffs on the regular since he's taken over the starting quarterback gig. It isn't just Rodgers either, as the Packers have some electrifying playmakers, with guys like Jordy Nelson, Reggie Cobb and Eddie Lacy all turning heads around the league. On the defensive side, the Packers added star veteran defensive end Julius Peppers to go along with players like B.J. Raji, A.J. Hawk and Clay Mathews, creating a formidable core that can do some serious damage. With the Packers hoping to stay healthy this season and make their mark, it simply doesn't get any better than this.

NFL Road Experience

Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI is one of the most famous football stadiums in the country, and seeing a game there is always an incredible experience. However, seeing the Packers hit the field away from their home field is also a thrill ride each and every time. It's always fun to see the Packers silence an entire crowd of opposing fans, and that's what you'll be witness to when Aaron Rodgers tosses the winning touchdown late in the game against a fierce division rival this season. Once the game is on the line and you're nearing closer to the edge of your seat, you'll definitely be glad that you're not still sitting at home wondering what the atmosphere of the big game is like.

Green Bay Packers History

The Green Bay Packers first took to the football field all the way back in 1919, and the team has put together some amazing seasons since. The Packers won the first Super Bowl ever played, and had one of the best coaches to ever roam the sidelines in Vince Lombardi. Lombardi was such a legend that the league named the Super Bowl trophy after him, helping to make this one of the iconic franchises in professional football. The Packers are actually owned by the community of Green Bay, and it's the only one of its kind in major sports. With another exciting era already underway and one of the richest histories in the NFL, the Green Bay Packers remained one of the most followed teams in the league for a reason.

Green Bay Packers Trivia

Did you know that Green Bay Packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers slipped all the way into the 20s of the first round of the NFL Draft?

That's right, Rodgers was under consideration for the top overall pick, but slid down the board as the draft progressed. Finally getting snapped up with the 24th pick in the draft, Rodgers would end up making 23 teams fairly disappointed once he burst onto the scene and became a superstar just a couple years later.
