Gruene/New Braunfels, TX
Gruene Hall is located
in what was once known as Gruene, TX, but is now a part of New Braunfels, TX. Gruene was first settled in 1872 and businesses
started popping up several years later. By 1900, Gruene had its fair share of business going on within its town limits, but
several factors (the most significant of which was the Great Depression) would cause a major decrease in population over the
following three decades, resulting in a population of just 75 in the year 1930. The town was eventually absorbed by the neighboring
city of New Braunfels, and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
