Haas Pavilion History
Located in Berkeley, California, Haas Pavilion has been bringing one great sporting event
since all the way back in the 1930's, helping make it a staple of the sports scene in the process as the Bears have put together
one amazing season after another. The Bears are back with another talented team ready to make a serious move up the Pac-12
standings, though you shouldn't just take our word for it. Get out for a game loaded with thunderous dunks, eye-popping swats
and pinpoint passes that have become the norm for the Bears over the years. This is a team with a tradition as amazing as
the arena, which is why it's always a good idea to get out to see the show.
Of course, it helps when you have a talented
college basketball team like the Bears calling Haas Pavilion home, bringing top-tier college basketball to the fans each and
every season. Ever since 1907, the Bears have been integral to the sports and entertainment scene around the beautiful Berkeley,
California campus, and it really picked up to a different level when Haas Pavilion opened its doors in 1933. With a major
renovation in the 1990's as well, Haas Pavilion brings together the best traditions of yesterday with a great modern facility
with amenities of today, providing plenty of reasons to head out and join in the rim-rocking excitement this season.
Haas Pavilion Events/Teams
When the Bears are locked in a heated battle with a top-tier opponent, there is nothing
close to the feeling of being in the stands with your fellow fans, though that's not something you're going to learn sitting
on your couch. In 1959, Cal won the national championship, and then in the 1990's the Bears qualified for the NCAA tournament
five times, helping create a tradition of excellence that always makes the stands filled with passion and energy. College
basketball played at this level is simply something to behold, giving you plenty of reasons to keep an eye on the calendar
to make sure that you don't miss a matchup that you know you'll want to be a part of.
Haas Pavilion Trivia
you know that Sacramento mayor Kevin Johnson has his jersey retired at Haas Pavilion?
Yep, well before he was calling
the shots in Sacramento and even before he was dominating at point guard for the Phoenix Suns, Kevin Johnson was lighting
up the scoreboard for the Cal Bears, which means he was routinely bringing the Berkeley crowd to their feet and helping make
the Bears one of the top teams in the nation at the time.
