Authentic among modern hard rock bands in that they're one of the few to be fronted by a female
lead singer, Lzzy Hale, Halestorm stands out above the rest by singing about relationships with candor and grit.
delivers arena-rock anthems like "I Miss the Misery" and "Here's to Us" that you just have to hear live to truly appreciate!
Halestorm often draws comparisons to peers like Shinedown and Courtney Love, although Hale's scrutiny of gender politics to
date isn't as compelling or dark as Love's.
Grammy-winners who play to the powers of their genre without necessarily
surpassing them, Halestorm delivers an outstanding live show.

Lzzy Hale formed the
band with her younger brother, Arejay, in late 1997 with Lizzy on vocals and keyboard, and Arejay playing the drums. Both
siblings took up the piano at an early age. Eventually, Lzzy learned to play the keytar, and she picked up a guitar at 16,
taking lessons. The teenage musicians issued an EP, Don't Mess With the Time Man, in 1999.
In the early 2000s, they
added bassist Josh Smith and guitarist Joe Hottinger, assuming the name of Halestorm. Within just a few years, they released
a live EP, One and Done, and inked a deal with Atlantic Records. In 2009, Halestorm put out their eponymous premiere, resulting
in the hit singles, "I Get Off" and "It's Not You." The album landed at No. 40 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart while also
climbing to No. 11 on the Rock Albums chart and No. 4 on the Hard Rock Albums chart. "I Get Off" hit No. 17 on Billboard's
Rock Singles chart. The live album/DVD entitled Live in Philly 2010 was recorded at The TLA in Philadelphia. In March 2011,
ReAnimate was released, featuring covers of songs of various genres, including "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga, "Out Ta Get Me"
by Guns N' Roses and the first track "Slave to the Grind" by Skid Row. The EP Hello, It's Mz. Hyde followed in early 2012.
Their sophomore full-length effort, The Strange Case Of... arrived in the spring of 2012.
Halestorm closed out 2012
with rather good news. They were playing a show in Madison, Wisconsin, when Joe Hottinger interrupted Lzzy to break the great
news to her that their tune, "Love Bites... (So Do I)" had garnered a Grammy nod for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance. In
early 2013, Halestorm took home that award, becoming the first band led by a female to be nominated and claim the award in
Halestorm has released two studio albums: Halestorm (2009) and The Strange
Case Of... (2012).
