Harlem Shakes came together in 2006 with Brent on drums, drum machine and vocals, Kendrick on keyboards and vocals, Lexy on vocals, Todd on vocals and guitar and Jose on bass and vocals. The crew teamed up after working together while in college, and ha since toured with the likes of Vampire Weekend, Deerhoof and Beiruit. Their debut EP Burning Birthdays was met with critical acclaim in 2007, and the outfit has been extremely popular ever since.
