You can buy tickets with your Visa or MasterCard debit card or Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express credit card. In most cases, you can also pay for your tickets with PayPal. When PayPal is available, you'll see the PayPal icon when viewing the details of a ticket listing.
If you're buying tickets with a credit or debit card, the billing address in your StubHub account must match the billing address associated with that card. To process your purchase, we also require your card's 3-digit (or, for American Express, 4-digit) security code. For more information on security codes, click here.
When you purchase tickets, you pay the price of each ticket, a service fee equal to 10% ($5 minimum per order) of the total ticket cost, and a delivery fee.
- Shipping fees range from $11.95 to $24.95, depending upon where and how quickly your tickets are being shipped.
- The fee for eDelivery orders is $4.95.
- For Last Minute Services orders, there is a $15.00 handling fee to cover the expense of the Last Minute Service Centers.
Unlike other ticket websites, StubHub doesn't own the tickets you purchase. The 10% service fee ($5 minimum per order) helps us provide the StubHub marketplace where fans can gather to buy and sell tickets.
For many events, you can order tickets and pay for them with PayPal. The first time you do, you can create a PayPal account or log into your existing account while you're buying tickets. After that, we'll save your PayPal preferences so you won't have to log in to PayPal for future StubHub orders. You can save one PayPal account in your StubHub account at a time.
As always, your orders are fully covered by StubHub's FanProtectTM Guarantee.
If you've ordered tickets at StubHub before using a credit card, you can easily change your billing method to PayPal. When you're ordering a set of tickets, just click the Edit button next to your billing details on the Order Summary page before you place your order.
If you've previously ordered tickets using PayPal and want to use a different PayPal account, go to My Account and delete your existing PayPal preferences from your StubHub account. Then, when you've found the tickets you want to buy, you can choose another PayPal account to link to your StubHub account when you're placing your order.
At this time, PayPal is not supported for eDelivery and Will Call/Kiosk orders or bidding on auctions. In addition, PayPal may not be available for orders exceeding a certain dollar amount.
When a seller lists tickets at a fixed price, you can order them immediately at the specified price. In auction-style listings, if the seller has set a Buy It Now price for the tickets, you can order them immediately at the Buy It Now price until a bid is placed.
We encourage sellers to list tickets at fair market value. However, sellers are free to ask any price for their tickets. The price is non-negotiable. All prices are listed in U.S. Dollars.
Placing an Order for Tickets
After reviewing the ticket details in a listing, to place an order for the tickets:
- Select the quantity you want from the drop-down menu and click the Buy button, or if you're viewing an auction-style listing with an available Buy It Now price, click Buy These Tickets Now. You may be prompted to log in.
- Your account's address information is automatically selected as the shipping address. Your additional contacts are also listed. Select the appropriate shipping address, or select Add New Address to specify a different shipping address.
- If the shipping address is the same as your billing address, select Yes. If the shipping address is different from your billing address, select No.
Select your preferred method of payment. You can pay with PayPal or use a credit or debit card.
If you choose PayPal, you'll be briefly taken to PayPal to select your account and then return to StubHub to complete your order.
If you choose credit card, you will be prompted to enter your credit or debit card information, including the card type, card number, expiration date, and security code. If you have saved credit or debit card information in your StubHub account, this information will appear automatically. If you want to use a different card, simply change the information to match the card you want to use.
- Select your billing address, if it is not already selected.
Note: When paying with a credit or debit card, the billing address you provide must match the billing address associated with the card you use to buy the tickets.
- If you have a gift certificate or FanCode, enter the code number in the Gift/FanCode field. Otherwise, leave this field blank.
- Click the Continue button.
- Depending upon the tickets, you may have a choice of Shipping or eDelivery options. If so, select a Delivery Option and then review your order details to make sure all of the information is correct.
Important: To ensure a successful purchase, carefully examine the ticket details, double-check to make sure all of your shipping and billing information is correct, and read the StubHub User Agreement before proceeding.
- If you need to make changes to any portion of your order, click the appropriate Edit button. Otherwise, if all of the information is correct and you are ready to order the tickets, click Place Order. In about 5 minutes, you ll get an email from us acknowledging your order.
- Your Order Summary appears, which shows your Order Number and indicates that you have placed your order. Click the Print button to print this page for your records or, to continue browsing for tickets, click the Shop button.
Confirmation of Your Order by the Seller
To finalize your purchase, delivery of your ticket order must first be confirmed by the seller. When you place your order, we authorize (but do not charge) your account to verify the validity of your order and, as a safeguard, immediately send the seller an email instructing them to confirm that they will be able to deliver the tickets.
We give sellers 48 hours to receive the notification email, confirm the order, and provide an expected fulfillment date. Sellers using Last Minute Services are required to confirm orders in 24 hours or less to ensure that buyers receive their tickets before the event.
As soon as the seller confirms your order, we'll charge your account and send you another email to let you know when to expect your tickets, or (if you ll be picking up the tickets) the time and place your tickets will be available for pick-up.
Note: With Instant eDelivery, your order is confirmed and your card is charged immediately upon placing your order and you ll receive your tickets within minutes.
Orders for Tickets not In Hand
In some cases, a seller will not be able to provide tickets immediately upon receiving an order. For example, this is often the case for NBA, MLB, NHL and NFL ticket holders whose tickets may not be distributed until a few weeks before the start of the season. In such cases, the seller must still confirm the order within 48 hours and provide an expected delivery date for the tickets. When your order is confirmed, we'll let you know the date the seller expects to deliver the tickets and your order will be covered by our FanProtect™ Guarantee.
In the rare case that your order remains unconfirmed beyond 48 hours, please give us a call at 1.866.STUBHUB (1.866.788.2482). We ll contact the seller about the delay in confirmation.
When a seller lists tickets in an auction-style sale, you can bid on the tickets until the sale ends. If you are the high bidder at the close of bidding, you win the tickets and the seller agrees to give you the tickets in exchange for the amount of your winning bid. If the seller has set a Buy It Now price for the tickets, they are available for immediate purchase at the Buy It Now price until a bid is placed. For more information, read about Buying Tickets.
After reviewing the ticket details in an auction-style listing, to bid on the tickets:
- Click the Place Bid button. You may be prompted to log in.
- The Current Bid, Minimum Bid, and Bid Increment display.
The Minimum Bid is the lowest bid amount the seller is willing to accept. The Bid Increment is the increase in dollar amount required for each new bid. For example, if the Current Bid is $60.00 and the Bid Increment is $5.00, the next bid must be at least $65.00.
- Enter the maximum amount you are willing to pay for all the tickets in the listing in the Your Maximum Bid field and click the Continue button.
Each time someone outbids you, we'll automatically increase your bid by the specified bid increment until you win the tickets or your maximum bid amount is reached, whichever comes first.
Important: An authorization for the amount of your Maximum Bid (plus fees) is sent to your credit or debit card each time you place a new bid. Although your card is not charged until the sale ends (if you are the high bidder) and the seller confirms your order, debit card issuers will withhold funds (up to 48 hours) for each authorization your account receives. Therefore, when bidding on auction-style listings, we recommend always using a credit card. Note: You cannot bid on auctions using your PayPal account.
- Follow the remaining steps, just like any other purchase.
Important: Before you click the Place Bid button, carefully examine the ticket details, double-check to make sure all of your shipping and billing information is correct, and read the StubHub User Agreement.
- If you're ready to start bidding, click the Place Bid button.
If you don't win the auction, we do not charge your card and we will not notify you of the result.
If you win, we’ll send you an email to let you know. However, we will not charge your credit or debit card until your order is confirmed.

We will show you your order total before you place the order or bid on tickets. The total amount of your StubHub ticket purchase equals:
- The full price of the tickets (or, in auction-style listings, the full amount of your winning bid), plus
- A service fee equal to 10% ($5 minimum per order) of the full ticket price (or winning bid amount), and
- A delivery fee (per order)
- Shipping: $11.95 to $24.95 (depending upon where your tickets are being shipped and the shipping option you choose)
- Last Minute Services: $15.00
- eDelivery: $4.95

FanCodes and Gift Certificates contain coded identification numbers for authenticity. Each unique code number can be used only once. To redeem a FanCode or Gift Certificate, enter the code number in the Gift/FanCode field during the ticket-buying process.
You can only use one FanCode per ticket purchase. However, if you have multiple gift certificates, you can combine them to use all at once. To combine your gift certificates:
- Click My Account at the top of the StubHub web page. You may be prompted to log in.
- Click My Info, and then click FanCodes.
- Type your gift certificate's code number in the Enter FanCode field.
- Click the Continue button.
- Repeat steps 3 and 4 for each of your gift certificates.
If you're not quite ready to buy tickets, don't worry. There's no time limit to use gift certificates. Any gift certificates you enter in your account will remain there until you're ready to use them.
Note: StubHub Coupons, FanCodes, and Gift Certificates cannot be used to purchase Gift Certificates. For more information, please read our Gift Certificate Policy.
When you place an order or win an auction-style sale, we’ll send you an email to let you know.

If an event has been postponed and rescheduled, your tickets are yours to use on the new date. Hold on to your tickets and use them on the rescheduled date. If you're unable to use the tickets, you may be able to post them for sale at StubHub.
If the event has not yet been rescheduled, continue to monitor the situation. We will re-list the event as soon as a date is announced. Again, you can attend the event on the rescheduled date or, if time permits, post them for sale at StubHub.
If a postponed event is ultimately cancelled, read about Cancelled and Contingent Events.
Unfortunately, the circumstances surrounding postponed events are unpredictable. Although we will try to help you resolve your ticket situation, we are not responsible for postponed events, partial performances, or venue, date, or time changes. No refunds will be issued.
When you place an order, we authorize your account for the amount of the order. However, we will not charge your account until the seller confirms your order.

Before purchasing tickets, be sure to read and understand the following:
You may be purchasing tickets above face value. All sales and bids are final. We are not responsible for partial performances, venue, date, or time changes. No refunds will be issued.
We want you to have a great time at the events you attend, but ask that you keep in mind the StubHub sellers who make it possible. Please avoid any behavior that could impact the seller's standing with a team or venue. Remember, you're buying tickets from other fans just like you.
Make sure you're aware of a venue's rules and regulations, including policies on drinking and smoking. You can often find this information posted on the venue's website and at the venue itself.
Although StubHub cannot be responsible - and is not liable - for buyer's behavior at events, buyers may be held accountable for any behavior that affects a seller's status with a team or venue.
We're proud to be able to feature some of the most sought-after tickets to the biggest, most celebrated events on the continent. Events that used to be impossible to get into - the Super Bowl, World Series, and Masters Golf Tournament, to name a few - are now available through reliable, guaranteed interactions between buyers and sellers in the StubHub marketplace.
Because of the increased market value of these tickets, we may implement additional security measures for certain Big Ticket events. If added security measures are in place, we'll let you know in the notes on the Event Page and by email when you place an order or create a listing.
Since every event is different, the security measures put in place will vary from time to time. However, if you're buying tickets to a Big Ticket event, the additional security measures will usually include:
- Completing a StubHub Credit Card Authorization form before your order is accepted.
- Picking up the tickets you purchase at the Last Minute Service Center handling ticket sales for the event.
Again, security measures will vary by event. However, if you're selling tickets to a Big Ticket event, the additional security measures will usually include:
- Completing a StubHub Credit Card Authorization form before you are allowed to list.
- Providing the tickets in advance to the Last Minute Service Center handling ticket sales for the event.
- Providing proof of possession and ownership of the tickets you are planning to list.
In addition, StubHub reserves the right to limit the number of listings a seller may have for an event as well as the total number of listings a seller may have. When a seller has numerous open orders, StubHub may, in its sole discretion, restrict the seller from creating new listings or receiving additional orders until the open orders are fulfilled.
We realize that these are big events that offer once-in-a-lifetime experiences. No matter how you look at it, these purchases or sales are important to the fans using the StubHub marketplace. We will do everything we can to make sure these exchanges go smoothly, and taking these precautions will help us provide the level of guarantee you need and have come to expect from us. The additional security measures are in the best interest of everyone - buyers, sellers, and yes, us too!
Keep in mind that once you receive your tickets, you are responsible for their welfare and safekeeping. Treat your tickets as if they are cash and keep them in a safe, secure place until you're ready to use them.
We cannot guarantee reprints.
However, for a $20 fee you can submit a Reprint Request and we will attempt to obtain reprints from the seller for you. Keep in mind, the seller may not be able to obtain reprints and is under no obligation to do so.
Important: The $20 Reprint Request fee is not refundable, even if reprints cannot be obtained.
If the seller is able to obtain reprints, you are also responsible for any fees the seller incurs to obtain the reprints. An additional shipping charge may also apply.
For reprinted tickets:
- Reprints must be issued for all tickets in the order.
- Reprinted ticket orders are not covered by StubHub's FanProtect™ Guarantee.
- All fees involved in obtaining reprints are non-refundable even if you find your original tickets.
- Once reprinted, the original tickets are no longer valid. If you find them, we recommend that you destroy them to avoid any possible confusion.
- There are no fees for reprints required due to a FedEx error.
To submit a Reprint Request, give us a call at 1.866.STUBHUB (1.866.788.2482).
