group earned some early recognition in the 1990s before breaking up near the end of the decade. The group does still come

About the Artist
High on Fire was formed
by Matt Pike in 1998 in Oakland, CA. At the time, Pike was a member of the stoner doom band Sleep, but that group soon broke
up, paving the way for Pike to put his full efforts into High on Fire. The group debuted with their first effort, The Art
of Self Defense, in 2000. The record was actually released three times on three separate labels.
The group followed
up The Art of Self Defense in 2002 with Surrounded by Thieves. In 2005 High on Fire released their third album, Blessed Black
Wings. The song "Delivution" earned some air play and the group made a music video for the track. The band has released two
subsequent albums and has toured with such big name bands as Metallica. They continue to tour and are known for the great
live shows that keep fans coming back for each and every concert. They have released three separate live albums to showcase
High on Fire's breakthrough moment could be attributed to the breakup of
Sleep, the former band of High on Fire frontman Matt Pike. It was then that Pike was able to focus on High on Fire full time
and led to the group's 2000 debut, The Art of Self Defense.
