The High Point Panthers only recently made
the big move up to Division I basketball after reaching the Regional Semifinals of the Division II NCAA Tournament twice,
however they have already begun to establish themselves as one of the legitimate contenders in the Big South Conference. last
season the Panthers participated in the NIT Tournament and lost a tough first round match up with the top-seeded Minnesota

High Point Panthers Basketball Conference
High Point Panthers are members of the Big South Conference, a mid-major that has proven to be among the best in college basketball.
Each year regular season conference play in the Big South Conference is full of incredible match ups and games that go down
to the wire. Typically, the Big South Conference is a one-bid conference which places added importance on the conference tournament
which places the winner in the NCAA Tournament. The conference is made up of eleven universities:the Campbell Fighting Camels,
the Liberty Flames, the Longwood Lancers, the Radford Highlanders, the Charleston Southern Buccaneers, the Coastal Carolina
Chanticleers, the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs, the High Point Panthers, the Presbyterian Blue Hose, the University of North
Carolina - Ashveville Bulldogs, and the Winthrop Eagles. Last season the High Point Panthers went 12-4 in conference play
but missed out on the NCAA Tournament after not winning the conference tournament. You can expect the Panthers to be hungry
for revenge in the 2014-2015 season while all of the other teams in the conference will also be gunning to take them down.
The High Point Panthers have yet to earn a Division I NCAA Tournament berth but participated in the Division
II NCAA Tournament in 1996 and 1997.
