Hiroshima formed in 1979, with its name referring to the Japanese city subjected to an atomic bombing during World War II. Several of the band's members are directly descended from those held in Japanese internment camps during the war. The band has released more than a dozen albums during its time together, and its popularity seems to be on the rise.
