The Hollywood Bowl was designed by the great Frank Lloyd Wright, and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra was founded in 1945. However, the performing group disbanded in 1947, but was revived in 1991. Several luminaries have given these performances a " theater tickets" feel given their star power, and those who have appeared with the orchestra include Kathleen Battle, Charlotte Church, Jane Eaglen, Marilyn Horne, Jennifer Larmore, Sylvia McNair, Andrea Bocelli, Luciano Pavarotti and Tony Bennett.
