Holt Arena was erected in the early 1970s, it was the first covered football stadium ever built on a college campus. The building was renamed ASISU Holt Arena on September 17, 1988 in honor of Dubby Holt. Holt died on January 7, 2007 at the age of 92. He had been entered into the ISU Sports Hall of Fame and Ring of Honor, as well as having a day named in his honor by Governor Dirk Kempthorne on his 90th Birthday.
