Nick Millhiser and Alex Frankel are childhood
friends from the Upper West Side of New York City who met while attending elementary school together. These long-time friends
first broke onto the music scene as part of an ill-fated rap group that went by the name of Automato. Though their first project
held promise, after their first record was recorded and released by James Murphy (of LCD Soundsystem fame) through his music
collective The DFA the band "kind of fell apart." The two weren't discouraged, however, and after encouragement from James
Murphy and his production partner Tim Goldsworthy, the two struck out on their own with a new project that would eventually
become Holy Ghost.

The duo recorded their first single, "Hold On," in 2007 and
immediately released the track on vinyl through The DFA. Their warm and melodic sound was contrasted with their signature
glitchy synth riffs and upbeat rhythms and quickly caught on with the underground music scene in their native New York City.
The initial reception of their first track marked a sort of restructuring of the band's future, as they had intended on focusing
more on their hip-hop roots but decided that they were destined to craft songs that leaned more towards the dirty electro
pop that they are known for today.
Holy Ghost Concert Tour
The DFA released Holy Ghost's first full-length
record, the self-titled Holy Ghost!, which was released in 2011. The overwhelmingly positive reception awarded the duo the
chance to collaborate with artists like MGMT, Moby, and Cut Copy, further expanding their fan base and codifying their talents
within the scene. With their 2013 album, Dynamics, Holy Ghost embarks on a new tour to entertain their dedicated fan base
with a new wave on sound that is sure to become and instant classic.
