Houston Dynamo History
Houston Dynamo franchise began decades ago as the original San Jose Earthquakes. Though the Earthquakes were successful in
the Bay Area, their ownership required a new soccer specific stadium for the team. By 2005, the Earthquakes were unsuccessful
in their quest and decided to sell the team. The coaching staff and players all made the move to Houston becoming an expansion
team, completely cutting ties with their history as the San Jose Earthquakes. In their first two seasons, the Houston Dynamo
won two MLS Cup Championships thanks to the amazing play of legendary players like Brian Ching, Dwayne De Rosario, Brian Mullen
and Pat Onstad. Since they last won the title in 2007, the Dynamo have been extremely competitive, but are still waiting for
their elusive third MLS Cup Championship.
