        Howard Hewett was born in Akron, Ohio, and would go on to play in the musical group Shalamar. After they disbanded, Hewett began to release solo material. In 1986, he released "I'll Commit to Love" with Elektra Records. He has since released many albums, including 2008's "Howard Hewett Christmas", which he released with The Groove Records.
