In 1941, Colonel King C. and Evelyn Leigh Hudson purchased five acres of land near Denver, and the seed for Hudson Gardens was planted. The Hudsons ran their acclaimed restaurant The Country Kitchen until 1962, after which point they focused on beautifying Littleton, Colorado. Evelyn Hudson passed away in 1984 and Hudson Gardens is preserved in her memory.
