Hugh Laurie burst onto the international scene with his early work with Stephen Fry who he met while attending university, the two were members of the school's drama club, the Cambridge Footlights and began a comedy partnership that would last for years and bring worldwide fame for them both. The two worked together on the Blackadder comedy series which starred Rowan Atkinson and featured Laurie in a variety of roles. Eventually they started the sketch comedy series A Bit of Fry and Laurie which furthered their fame. The whole time Hugh Laurie was also honing his musical chops which would help him also establish a career as a musician.

It is not often that a real international superstar comes to town and when that opportunity arises, you would be well advised to jump at it. This is precisely the case with Hug Laurie. Maybe you have just heard of this talented singer-songwriter, actor, and comedian or perhaps you have been waiting for months if not years for this night to come and finally as the lights lower you begin to see Hugh Laurie taking the stage. The audience roars with applause as Hugh Laurie approaches the mic. A hush falls over the crowd as Hugh Laurie thanks them and launches into a fan favorite from Let Them Talk or Didn't It Rain. Maybe he even does some of the standards he has been known to cover both live and on his recordings or busts into a brief comedy act. The crowd once again erupts and sings and dances along to hits throughout the night. This is your chance to see a true international superstar and favorite of the genre, and Hugh Laurie definitely exceeds expectations. Hugh Laurie has an ability to connect with the audience and enthrall with his that is not always found in modern pop music. Do not miss the chance to see Hugh Laurie when he hits your town.

While attending university Hugh Laurie was in a drama club with fellow actress Emma Thompson with whom he had a romantic relationship and remains good friends to this day. Thompson was the person who introduced Laurie to Fry.
