Though it has undergone significant changes over the past several years, Huskie Stadium has been a crucial part of Northern Illinois University’s athletics program since it opened in 1965. In 2003, the stadium was renamed as Brigham Field at Huskie Stadium to pay tribute to Robert J. Brigham, an NIU student-athlete, assistant coach, head coach, director of athletics and special assistant to the president.
