Video games weren't around for older generations to enjoy, but it's almost expect for the mid-thirties crowd to be familiar
with them. Deeply ingrained in our psyche at a very young age, video games can shape ideas just as much as books or movies
can. This lasting influence can be seen as exhibited by chiptune rockband I Fight Dragons. If you were hoping to hear the
latest in 8-bit sound, hurry and pick up your concert
tickets to see I Fight Dragons today!
Hailing from Chicago, Illinois, I Fight Dragons first formed in 2008. They self-released their first EP, which was titled
"Cool Is Just A Number". After gaining prominence by winning a local radio station's battle of the bands, I Fight Dragons
was invited in 2009 to perform at the Vans Warped Tour. That same year, they self-released "Overcool", which was followed
shortly after by "Welcome to the Breakdown", released on Atlantic Records. In 2010, their song "Money" was used extensively
during WWE's event "Money in the Bank". Their music has also been featured on popular shows like The Hills.
Though synthesizers in their earliest form have been around since the 1950s, it wasn't until the 1980s that they truly
began to receive attention in mainstream music. No longer reserved for soundtracks to films set in outer space, the use of
synthesizers in music broke into the mainstream with hits like A-Ha's "Take On Me". Chiptune, however, is a very recent style
of music. Inspired by the sounds of early video game systems like the Commodore 64, Super Nintendo, and the Sega Genesis,
Chiptune has come to dominate as a popular genre among Generation Y. Based on simple wave forms, Chiptune is usually a mix
of the electronic 8-bit sound with hard rock. For those who were hoping to get a better idea of what Chiptune is all about,
