Ian Anderson Background
is from Lancashire, England, where he ended up becoming infatuated with music and started studying fine art at the Blackpool
College of Art. In 1963, Anderson formed The Blades with some of his friends from school, which consisted of Barriemore Barlow,
John Evan, Jeffrey Hammond, and Michael Stephens. This band primarily focused on soul and blues with a bit of rock and roll
influence. Although he already knew how to play the harmonica and the guitar, Anderson decided to shift his focus from the
guitar to another instrument because he didn't think could ever be "as good as Eric Clapton". So Anderson started to learn
how to play the flute, which would later become his signature instrument. After a great deal of practice, Anderson became
skilled at the flute, and he was able to adapt its sound to fit his bluesy, rock and roll style. Along with the flute, Anderson
continues to play acoustic guitar during his shows.
While Jethro Tull was on hiatus during the '80s, Anderson decided
to start his solo career, which had long been a dream of his. His solo debut, Walk Into Light, was released in 1983, and from
then on he has released numerous more solo albums, all of which receive high praise for their instrumental stylings and strong
vocals. There is no doubt that Ian Anderson is one of the most talented instrumentalists and songwriters in rock history,
and he has performed at major music venues all over the world. If you want to catch this rock icon in concert, make sure that
