Indiana Pacers Road Schedule in 2013-14

The Indiana Pacers are ready to set the tone as they hit the road in 2013-14 to take on all of the top opponents that the National Basketball League has to offer. The Pacers have one of the top teams in the league this season and hope are running high for this organization. While Indiana should claim one of the top seeds in the Eastern Conference playoffs this season, they're going to need to fight on the road throughout the 2013-14 campaign just like anyone else. Wins away from home are never easy to come by, and these players know it, so look for them to play hard each time they hit the floor.

The Pacers can't wait to head south to Miami where they'll take on the Heat. The Heat have won the last three Eastern Conference title and back-to-back NBA Championships, and were the team that eliminated the Pacers from the postseason last year. The Pacers fought hard against Miami in the Eastern Conference Finals, but came up just short. Indiana is going to have to focus on one road game at a time, though, if they're going to rack up enough wins to take home the best record in the conference.

Indiana Pacers Team Info

The Indiana Pacers play in the Eastern Conference's Central Division, a division that also plays home to team like the Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit Pistons, Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks. The Pacers are one of the best teams in the National Basketball Association and have their sights set high in 2013-14, and for good reason. The team nearly made it to the NBA Finals last year, and the team is looking to prevail and earn the right to play in the NBA Finals for the championship this season. The Pacers have one of the best players in the league in Paul George. George may be young, but he is already turning into one of the top two-way players in the NBA. George appeared to take his game to the next level in the postseason last year, and he has been generally able to sustain that level of play in 2013-14. The Pacers need a go-to player that they can rely on when they're on offense, but this is still a club that plays great team basketball. The Pacers have one of the best defensive players in the league in center Roy Hibbert. The former Georgetown Hoya strikes fear into many players that dare take the ball into the paint against Indiana, as he is known to turn away shot after shot down low. Hibbert has a fantastic frontcourt mate down low in David West, a savvy and tough-nosed veteran that is the locker room leader of this club. A player that has given the Pacers a big boost this season has been guard Lance Stephenson. Stephenson was a high school phenom, but a bit of a suspect reputation put his NBA prospects in doubt until the Pacers got him and developed him into a terrorizing force on the court. Stephenson gives the Pacers another ball-handler and distributor, and a tough-nosed defense player on the perimeter. This Pacers team has the potential to win the whole thing this season, and their fans are hoping that they can make it happen.

Fan Experience

The atmosphere at an NBA game is impossible to duplicate, whether you're watching at home or at a sports bar. Being there in the stands an about as exhilarating as it gets for any hoops fan, and you can see that for yourself when you head out to see the Pacers on the road this season. The Pacers will do whatever it takes to seal the victory, and it's always thrilling to see them silence the home crown. Enjoy all the NBA has to offer this season by setting out with some of the most loyal Indiana hoops fans and attending an away game.

Indiana Pacers Trivia

Where did Indiana Pacers star Paul George attend college?

The answer is Fresno State, where he starred and put himself on NBA radar screens. Going into the draft, some scouts were worried that George did not asset himself enough at Fresno State. However, the Pacers saw his incredibly high ceiling and knew they could turn him into a star, which is exactly what they did.

Indiana Pacers History

The Indiana Pacers first took the floor in 1967 as a part of the American Basketball Association. The team joined the National Basketball Association in 1976 as a part of the famous NBA-ABA merger that brought the two biggest hoops leagues together. The Pacers have had some awesome players through the years, such as Reggie Miller, Chris Mullin and Alex English, to name a few. The Pacers were able to capture three ABA Championships but have been unable to capture an NBA title, though they did reach the NBA Finals once.
